In the next years, the demand for plastic recycling plants in Europe will grow considerably. By 2025, sorting and recycling plants will be put into operation with an estimated capacity of 5.2 million tons. That’s an increase of 25.0%.
The significant market impulse here is the European Waste Framework Directive. By 2020, 50.0% of the plastic portion of residential waste must be materially recycled. With the packaging regulation, the recycling rate for 2019 and 2022 will double for plastic alone.
In addition to mainstream and new technologies in which up to 20 million Euros have been invested, the technical and planning support of such plants is sorely needed.
