Five years of Source One GmbH – Managing Directors Kai Hoyer and Uwe Echteler celebrated this anniversary on 23 February with around 400 guests until the early hours of the morning. The anniversary celebration also marked the opening of the new location of the three companies Source One, Source One Plastics and 23 Oaks Investments in Eicklingen by the ‘Who’s Who’ of the circular economy.
One event highlight chased the next at the industry get-together. After an emotional look back at the origins of Source One, its latest idea for a better circular economy was brought into operation – the uniquely energy-efficient plant of its sister company Source One Plastics. In a live broadcast from the plant, Kai Hoyer, Plant Manager Till Honig and Matthijs Beijk, Vice President Feedstock and Mechanical Recycling at LyondellBasell, offered their thanks to the teams and companies involved for the rapid realisation of the plant. Special thanks went to Manuel Schacht, owner of Schacht Tiefbau, and Guido Brehm, Managing Director of Baugeschäft Könecke. The intensive cooperation over the last few months had welded the colleagues from the various sectors and trades on the construction site together. Guido Brehm and his team erected the new buildings on time, from the foundations to the last window sill, despite the difficult external conditions. The Source One Plastics team presented him with a gold-plated trowel, attached to a hundred-year-old oak board, in recognition of his special services.
After the mayors Jörn Schepelmann, Eicklingen, and Frank Böse, Samtgemeinde Flotwedel, shared their joy at the arrival of the new companies with the audience, the celebrating community fortified themselves with a five-course menu of fine cuisine for the surprise guest of the evening: the cult band of the 80s “Alphaville” opened their European tour “40 Years of Alphaville” with a concert in the party tent of Source One Plastics.
Host Kai Hoyer, himself a huge fan of Alphaville, was delighted with the successful celebration. ” It was just incredibly wonderful that we were all together again. I was really delighted to have our customers, partners and contributors here and to spend such a great evening together. This was also confirmed by the excellentt feedback we received from all sides. Our guests were very enthusiastic – and that’s important to me,” says Kai Hoyer. “It will be difficult to top that for the tenth anniversary. But I already have an idea.” And presumably every one of the approximately 400 guests knows that it wouldn’t be Kai Hoyer if he didn’t realise his idea in an impressive way. So here’s to the next five!
